The Karaoke World Championships is an annual singing competition involving a diverse field of countries spanning 6 continents.
KWC 2022 SCHEDULE
Due to uncertainties stemming from public health lockdowns, much of the KWC competition schedule for 2022 has yet TBD.
New venues will be added to the provincial pages—links immediately below—as soon as dates are confirmed.
PRE-QUALIFICATION
February 1st to March 15th
This is an optional, non-elimination round; essentially a practice round. Contestants will have the opportunity to receive advice and feedback from our national judges and coaches, and the most outstanding performances will be featured on our website.
PROVINCIAL QUALIFICATION
March 16th - May 15th
Online contestants will be contacted at the end of the provincial qualification period to let them know if they made it through to their respective Provincial Championships. Those who attend live qualification events will be notified of their results at the end of their venue final.
PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
**Provincial administrators set the dates for their respective championships, so dates will vary from province to province.
Alberta & SK - June 4/5
BC - TBD
Ontario - May 21/22
The top singers from each province will form our provincial teams that will move on to compete at the National Championships.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
June 29th-July 3rd 2022 — It is unclear as to whether public health restrictions restrictions will be lifted in time to host a live event. In the case that we must restrict the National Finals to an online event, this will take place July 2nd and 3rd, 2022.
The top 3 soloists and duets champions will move on to the World Championships.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The World Finals for 2022 will be held in Nes, Norway in August, 2022. More details to come! We are very much hoping that lockdowns will not prevent the event from continuing as planned, or prevent Team Canada from travelling to Norway, but in the event that the World Finals cannot take place in person, there will be a virtual final instead.
